David Walker

David Walker is a New Zealand–based location professional with more than two decades experience across feature films, television series, commercials and stills productions. He has worked throughout New Zealand and worked internationally in the Pacific Islands, Canada and Cuba.

Walker’s feature film work most recently includes location scout & location manager for the feature films ‘Heart of the Beast’ (2026) for Paramount Pictures and The Wrecking Crew (2025) for Amazon, continuing his collaboration with international productions filming in New Zealand.

Others include location manager on John Maclean’s Slow West (2015), and location scout on major studio productions including Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) and A Minecraft Movie (2025).

His television credits include serving as location manager on the acclaimed series Top of the Lake (2013–2017), Amazon’s The Wilds (2020), and Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop (2021).

Across his career he has worked on more than 200 commercial and stills productions, bringing extensive knowledge of New Zealand’s landscapes and filming environments to international productions. His work focuses on identifying and securing distinctive locations that support both the creative vision and practical requirements of large-scale film and television productions.
