Amy Waller

Amy Waller (she/her) is an Intimacy Coordinator from New Zealand now based in Los Angeles. Amy trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) directly under Alicia Rodis (pioneer IC for HBO), Claire Warden (HBO, Hulu, Amazon, Showtime, Sony, Apple TV, 20th Century Fox and Broadway) and Marcus Watson (HULU, Netflix, Showtime). Her training included rigorous consent-based practices, specialist intimacy choreography techniques and an extensive understanding in modesty garments and rider language.

Amy is a graduate of Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School and an experienced actor and dancer. She has worked as an actor across all genres in film, TV and theatre in New Zealand and in SAG scale TV and film in the United States.

Amy has extensive training and knowledge in multiple movement and dance techniques. She has collaborated with leading NZ and US writers and theatre companies, devising numerous professional physical theatre productions. Her successful one woman show, ‘GLORIA,’ was inspired by her grandmother's WW2 story. It was nominated for Best Original Production out of 400 shows at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Thanks to Amy’s extensive experience as an actor she has a first hand understanding of the vulnerability required to perform hyper-exposed scenes. This allows her to effectively communicate with actors and drives her passion to facilitate safe and empowering spaces to create stories.

Her dry “kiwi” sense of humor contributes to her ability to shine particularly in comedy. She loves finding the magic in the mundane and humor in the ordinary, awkward moments of intimacy.

Amy has additional and ongoing training in anti-racism, mediation and conflict resolution, trauma informed work, mental health first aid, gender identity and sexual orientation.

Amy is a dual US/NZ citizen and is looking forward to serving as an Intimacy Coordinator in Los Angeles and her homeland, New Zealand.
