I’m Sam Jones, an Auckland-based cinematographer, camera operator and editor. I’m finishing a Bachelor of Communication Studies in Screen Production at AUT, and will graduate at the end of 2026.
Cinematography is where I’m strongest. In 2026, I shot Pure Adrenaline as DOP and worked as lead camera operator on the documentary FAME, and I’ve shot and edited several short films at uni. I’m comfortable on the Sony FX6, lens changes, focus pulling and camera assistant work.
I’ve been editing in Adobe Premiere Pro for five years, on personal and university projects. I also work as a studio operator at TVNZ, which has taught me to work to live deadlines.
I’m looking for camera and editing work, including camera trainee, 2nd AC and camera operator roles, as well as junior editor and assistant editor positions.
